It is not many times in one’s sporting career that such an extraordinary milestone can be achieved but Ash Moeller has done exactly that. He joins the ranks of modern era AFL players Buddy Franklin, Tony Lockett and Matthew Lloyd in the century goal kickers club surpassing the century mark with his 104th goal of the 2013 season.

Moeller who came to the Magic this year looking to reignite his passion for the game has definitely made his mark on the competition and his input and direction for the playing group has been invaluable. On Saturday versus Sydney University, Moeller required nine goals to reach the century and although there was no spoken tactic about reaching the milestone, Moeller was a magnet for the ball with a majority of the possession coming his way.

The 100th goal could not have come any easier with Moeller calmly slotting away from straight in front allowing the whole team to get around him and celebrate the achievement. With only one round left Moeller has two hands on the golden boot trophy for the Sydney AFL Division Three competition and setting a record for the Magic as well.

News travelled fast and the local papers couldn’t wait to run the story. One of the which is from the Blacktown Sun can be read below:
